MORE RECYCLED PLASTIC, LESS CARBON EMISSIONS
The production of rPET produces 79% less carbon emissions compared to virgin PET. It is well documented in a study delivered by ALPLA. Similar results were revealed by the Association of Plastic Recyclers, who released a report illustrating that using recycled plastic reduced greenhouse emissions by 67% for PET and 71% for both HDPE and PP – alongside reducing energy consumption. Prevented Ocean Plastic Research Centre gives us some tips. Their website tells us that, "Although concerns about ocean plastic pollution and global warming continue to grow, the role that recycled plastic could play in mitigating carbon emissions remains largely under-appreciated."
THE ROLE OF RPET IN CARBON REDUCTION STRATEGIES
"Integrating more recycled plastic content into products and packaging can be an effective way to reduce carbon emissions. Yet for companies, the extent to which switching to recycled plastic will reduce emissions remains relative to the packaging contribution to the overall carbon footprint value chain," adds the Prevented Ocean Plastic website.
RECYCLING THANKS TO PLASTICFINDER
Using recycled plastic is the sustainable choice. "In order to increase recycled content in packaging and other products, there must be a sufficient supply of recycled plastic material available," says Prevented Ocean Plastic. That's PlasticFinder‘s main purpose. We are the number one marketplace in Europe for plastics. We support the ‘reuse and recycle' philosophy. Why are you waiting to join us?
