TRAVELERS UNHAPPY, PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES BANNED FROM US AIRPORT
San Francisco international airport has banned the sale of single-use plastic water bottles. Under the new policy, shops, restaurants, lounges, and vending machines will not be allowed to sell or offer water in plastic bottles. Passengers will be encouraged to bring their own containers and refill them at stations around the airport. Only sodas, juices and flavored water will be sold in plastic bottles. The decision will take effect on August the 20th according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Reactions from travelers were mixed, states the Washington Post. "So, what they're saying is we should drink more soda?" asked one man on Twitter. Even if SFO has 100 hydration stations that dispense free filtered water, the news has resulted in some disgruntled business travelers bristling at the inconvenience of having one more item to pack. Not everyone is in agreement about zero waste initiatives.
