When a tyre is no longer efficient enough to be reused (we call it ELT, which stands for end-of-life tyre), it can be directed towards recycling. During this process, new materials such as rubber, steel and textile fibres are obtained. These products can then be utilised in a wide range of sectors, such as acoustic insulation, anti-vibration elements and also in the field of sport, in applications like playgrounds, football pitches, and multi-purpose sports flooring. Plasticfinder has followed the model provided by Ecopneus scpa. It's a non-profit company for the tracking, collection, processing and final destination of ELTs created by the major tyre manufacturers operating in Italy (Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear-Dunlop, Marangoni, Michelin and Pirelli). Nothing is wasted.
