CAN MEDICAL CARE EXIST WITHOUT PLASTIC?
Single-use plastics are the cleanest, most efficient way to facilitate health and hygiene in hospitals, says a fact sheet published by the American Chemistry Council, a plastic trade group. "Plastics for biomedical applications have many desirable properties, including low cost, ease of processing, and [ability] to be sterilised easily," adds Bridgette Budhlall, an engineer at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. That's why the National Geographic website went online with this headline: "Can medical care exist without plastic?". Hospitals are filled with sterile single-use plastic. Nobody can say that sterile single-use plastic is not important for health.
