BRIDGESTONE DEVELOPS WORLD’S FIRST POLYMER USING SYNTHETIC TECHNOLOGY

Bridgestone Corporation has just announced that it has successfully developed the world's first polymer to bond rubber and resins at a molecular level. This new polymer boasts unprecedented durability with a crack resistance which is more than five times higher than standard. Its abrasion resistance is more than 2.5 times higher, while its tensile strength is more than 1.5 times higher than natural rubber. The newly developed polymer, called High Strength Rubber, is a hybrid material, which bonds synthetic rubber components with resin components.
