WHO IS THE NEW COLE PORTER? LET’S SING THE PRAISES OF SUSTAINABLE PLASTICS
Do you remember Cole Porter's song "You're the Top", from the 1934 musical "Anything Goes"? Let's ponder the lyrics about a man and a woman who take turns complimenting each other. "You're the top / You're Mahatma Gandhi / You're the top / You're Napoleon Brandy / You're the purple light / Of a summer night in Spain / You're the National Gallery / You're Garbo's salary / You're cellophane".
The beloved is compared to a list of really wonderful things such as the purple light of a summer night in Spain, the National Gallery, Garbo's salary and cellophane. A century later people seem to be turning their backs on plastic. It's time to think about the true use of plastics.
It's hard to say that plastics are useless, isn't it? For this reason, why not hope that someone sings a song about the correct and sustainable way to make plastics? Who will be the new Cole Porter?
